Got hooked on Science in 7th Grade Entered and won 1st place in many science fairs Class President from 9th thru 12th grades President of Honor Society Played baseball, softball, track, tennis, and more Took correspondence course in Radio/TV servicing Ran own business in radio and appliance repair while in H.S. Apprentiships in carpentry, masonry, electrician, shoe repair, and more Took business and commercial courses in H.S. Graduated top of commercial class, Class rank #3 in Senior Class Won city-wide college scholarship competition Started college at Hampton in VA, dean’s list Varsity Swimming team, Intramural champ in tennis & table-tennis Switched to NYU, then CCNY (in ROTC and same P.R. military fraternity with Gen. Colin Powell at CCNY) Undergraduate engineering degree from CCNY Master’s Program at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute Research and Development Engineer at RCA/Sarnoff, specializing in communication systems (TV, radio, telephone, microwaves, satellite, digital processing, et.al.), 7 US patents, over 30 technical papers, many presentations and technical demonstrations of advanced technology at professional conferences Retired from Sarnoff, Inc. in 2000 as Member, Technical Staff, after 44 years with RCA and Sarnoff. |
